Reflection for Good Friday

The gospel accounts of Jesus crucifixion show us the stark reality of what it means to have faith in the invisible God…in Marks account Jesus feels utterly abandoned by his father in heaven and yet Luke tells us when everything was at its darkest when ‘the sun stopped shining. And the curtain of the temple was torn in two. The very last thing Jesus called out was

"Father, into your hands I commit my spirit."

His body is torn and bleeding…his heart broken… in his pain and desolation even Jesus loses sight of God… yet in the end regardless of what he feels… he finds his way through it…
